Sock Monkeys

I have always loved sock monkeys so I thought a project based on sock monkeys would be a great idea. Here they are for all to enjoy. Many of them make me laugh and make my day brighter! Have fun lookin at my 5th grade Sock Monkeys.

Heart to Heart

This is a fun quick Valentine's Day project. I started by cutting long skinny pieces of paper. I made a heart pattern and students traced the pattern 3 times down thier paper. Next draw a second heart in the center. Fill each heart inside and out with large simple pattern and line.

Here are my 5th grade drawings before they outline with oil pastel.

This one is outlined very heavily with oil pastel (students can use any color they choose).

Once the picture is outlined I would have each student paint thier work of art. We did discuss not painting in and area outlined with the same color.

Finally I would add bit of glitter on the hearts. I just love going home covered in glitter. How Fun!
