Little Monsters

I love to sew and have always wanted to teach my students how to sew as well. For 3 years now I have been teaching my 6th grade students how to create soft sculpture dolls called "Little Monsters".

Here is a great student example! They can even make clothes for their monster. We finish our projects by adding a drawing showing what thier monsters like to do.

Here is and example of our practice sewing fabric (I use s small scrap of felt). It is a work of art on its own!

These are the stitches we practice.

Time to trace our patterns. I made several patterns for students to trace on their fabric. We use thin permanet markers and dot around the pattern piece and then cut them out.

This is an example I am working on. He is part owl/octopus octo-owl!

I hope you enjoy my "Little Monsters"!
